Maggie - Market Research Film Trailer

  • Institutions - Lionsgate, Roadside attractions, Grindstone, all quick at the start, not long on each company. Sound from trailer placed over the top of the ident to link them into the trailer
  • USP - Schwarzenegger is a huge bankable star having been in many large films, Abigail Breslin is an Academy Award nominee which the trailer notes, so is an actress which many people would look to. Zombie film which is very popular at the moment in culture, this seems to take a different approach to it however and isn't so much an action film but far more a character drama about the relationship between the father and daughter, which would be interesting to many people
  • Genre/mood - Set in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies have taken over the world, which attracts many people, but it also seems to be a dramatic film and a great character study about the two leads and how they deal with this new world. The trailer also contains hints of other genres such as horror by the eerie sound at the end which is scary and therefore leaves the audience on a uncomfortable note and unsure of what the film is going to be
  • Target Audience - 15+, as many younger people wouldn't know who Schwarzengger is. Also due to the horror element, it perhaps would be unsuitable to younger children. They would want to leave it at around 15+ as teenagers are the main demographic for zombie films
  • The trailer builds throughout and doesn't give much away plot wise. It also doesn't show a zombie until the end which is the big reveal
