- This trailer starts off with a press conference, with a scientist presenting and explaining his work. A sound bridge is used for the scene's sound over the production company and then it is also carried over on to other shots throughout the trailer to juxtapose what he is saying with what actually happens. This is common is sci-fi trailers as it introduces the audience to the breakthrough straight away and shows what he is talking about with the shots
- Voice over is also used throughout the trailer, this is done in order for the audience to know who the main character is and to get inside his thoughts
- The music starts off with a calm piano piece, this symbolises the calm before the storm. As he begins to explain what he has done, a buzzing sound begins to be heard, this sound can be heard in many different trailer and is a key to the audience that something has gone wrong, it also builds suspense
- Suddenly the music stops completely and when it starts up again, it has got a faster beat and is louder and highlights the horror element. As the trailer draws towards the third act, the buzzing sound can be heard again as it gets louder and louder, further increasing the suspense of the film
- In the final act the shots appear at a faster pace, with tight frame being used and several close ups to show the danger and excitement
- The production company is shown at the start, like every other film trailer, however no director or actors are shown, this is done as they are not bankable stars and therefore they have used the extra time to show more of the film or the tag line which is shown in pieces throughout and reads 'Elizabeth is coming home but she is not the first', the extra time is also used to show the reviews and the festival awards that it received, the reviews are placed over the shots from the film. The title is shown at the very end
- After the title has appeared at the end, like many other film trailers, an extra section of dialogue is added, which is from most likely the press conference at the beginning. This is supposed to show the stupidity of man
- The trailer, especially in the final act is extremely dark with very little lighting used. This heightens the horror/thriller aspect of the film and showcases the danger that the characters are in
- The final act is also shown in a montage, with lots of different shots used, this is an extremely common theme in all trailers
- The central plot of the film is only shown in the final act, where the action begins to happen however it is shrouded in mystery and the audience doesn't know what is happening to these characters and who is doing it
- This trailer adheres to the conventions of a sci-fi horror/thriller by using a lot of chiaroscuro and close ups in order to give the impression of isolation. This dark setting elevates the horror aspect of the trailer, along with the music which builds the suspense
