- Institutions - No studios shown during the trailer at all along with no stars/director. This was all placed at the end. Perhaps the studios felt that it would take people out of the trailer and would therefore people wouldn't be as drawn into the trailer, a the slightly unsual concept
- USP - Suspense, scares, something which you have never seen before. Offers a new genre. Looks legitimately scary as it the time of release, and still is, space was an unknown and therefore a horror movie set in space where 'No one can hear you scream' would have made many people eager to watch it
- Genre/mood - Immediately shown as Sci-fi horror set in space from the title 'Alien', the egg, the buzzing which is in the background and the suspense which is created. Later on the horror element is emphasized with the fast paced cuts, no dialogue and pulsing music which then turns in to a montage of shots with screams and sirens which are paced over shots of people running. This creates suspense and could scare some viewers
- Target Audience - Adult viewers from the horror aspect of the trailer
- Kept on showing the cat and it's scream was what started the faced paced montage at the end. Perhaps the cat personifies the predatory nature of the alien and an animal becoming scared or vicious generally means the something bad is occurring
- The female lead was also shown several times, which was unusual for a sci-fi film at that time
- The trailer really pushed the fear element of the film, without showing the Alien at all, it did this via faced paced montages and the sound
